What is the difference between water-soluble and oil-soluble vitamins?
Water-soluble vitamins need to be taken regularly because they cannot be stored by the body and are generally excreted within one to four days. These include vitamin C and the B complex .
Oil soluble vitamins, especially Vitamin A and D, however, can be stored for longer periods in the body’s fatty tissue and the liver. For this reason intake needs to be more carefully controlled.
Other essential oil-soluble vitamins include Vitamin E and Vitamin K.
